Orient & Flume

A historic home and carriage house located between Orient Street and Flume Street in Chico, California was the starting place and inspiration for the glass company, Orient & Flume. Purchased by Douglas Boyd in 1972, the house was transformed into an art glass studio, but soon the business outgrew its namesake and was relocated to Park Avenue. Today, the work of Orient & Flume can be found in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum, Smithsonian Museum, Chicago Art Institute, Chrysler Museum, and Corning Glass Museum. Characterized by the silver-luster of iridescent glass and signature motifs of flowers, trees, and fruits, Orient & Flume pieces are highly collectable, attracting both seasoned and new customers.
