Sarah Mimo Manufactory started as a small side project in 2011. Sarah had a background in illustration and was working as a graphic designer, but she was really interested in designing home accessories. She was drawn to the possibility of making something that’s both beautiful and functional. Wanting to combine elaborate ornamental art of the past with sleek modern lines, Sara set out to make something new and unique. Her first piece was an illustrative clock made of paper with rococo and art nouveau influences. Soon after it was completed, Sara set out to reproduce it in wood, and the line started to take shape. Since then many things have changed, but the work still draws inspiration from the balance between art and design, while constantly seeking new ways to explore old aesthetics.
