About the Artist
Born in Pusan, Korea, Jeung-Hwa Park studied fashion design and worked as a designer prior to coming to the US. During her early days in the States, she worked as a photographer for Korean fashion magazines, shooting the current fashion trends in New York and Boston. She decided to return to school as a textile major at Rhode Island School of Design, as an effort to combine apparel with textiles: to integrate fashion with the fabric that is its basis. Jeung-Hwa has won numerous awards, and has had her work included in significant collections, including those of the Museum of Arts and Design (New York) and Kwangju International Biennial.
